Had an awesome time at the Mayhem Festival. I enjoyed the smaller bands more than I expected to, Behemoth was awesome - real Dethklok stuff and it was excellent and funny. Most of the other bands were ok, but nothing I'll chase down. Cannibal Corpse was pretty good too. Slayer was 100 times better than I expected - I would love to see them away from the 'festival' type show and I bet it would be even better. Still, they were easily one of the tightest, loudest shows I've ever seen. Dave Lombardo is fucking amazing on drums - not flashy, but solid, fast and non fucking stop. I was disappointed with Marilyn Manson - I really expected a better stage show from what I had read, but his show was kinda phoned in.
